Free Your Mind.

My name is Colleen.
I have a lot of thoughts.
They pour from my soul.
I am completely fascinated and often captivated by the world of art.
I enjoy a book over television any day.
I'm a small town country girl, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I believe in the good in this world, and I always see the cup half full.
Pessimism doesn't suit me.
Kill 'em with kindness.

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, it is that we are powerful beyond measure.

There is no love worth investing yourself in that does not give us fear from the bottom of our soul to the top of our heart. There is no greater gift in life than the ability to take risks. It is from jumping into fear with both feet: sink or swim; it is within this battle that we find the ability to grow. We grow from the moments where we consider giving into that sinking feeling in the pit of our stomach; it’s the same feeling that we have when we decide to either let it overcome us or if we learn to let it go, love on, and become stronger from it.

A wrinkle, a scar.. those are the true marks of beauty. Like the rings of a tree, each mark, either internally or externally gives the being the strength that no one necessarily sees, but the people willing to find them and accept are worth immeasurable value. Life is about finding beauty in the heartbreak, becoming flawless through your flaws and learning to find the beauty in the flaws in the people around you. There is no reason to spend time in a love unless it is magnificent and beautiful. There is no love that is perfect, but there is beauty in imperfect love.

The Bible claims that love does not anger, that it is patient and it is kind..but true love gets angry all the time.. it loses patience, it is not always kind. Sometimes, true love hurts, sometimes it breaks, but true love is true because it finds the beauty through the brokenness.

Do not be afraid to be alone, for there is no greater love affair the the one you have with yourself. The love we give ourselves will sprout and multiply and blossom into a beautiful love unlike any other. We accept the love we think we deserve and it is this love that becomes our roots, the love of another is the flower that blossoms, but nothing can sprout from the ground without roots that have grown and been well tended to.

It is the bottom of the iceburg that took out the Titanic, the greatest forces of nature usually the ones that cannot be seen from up close, but the love you give yourself will become key when someone approaches you. The closer they get, the more they will see your scars, but how do you accept this? That is the impending question of life and love. Do you show off your scars and tell their stories? Are you proud of the mark they have left or do you try to cover them up? Covering them up makes them even more present in your life. You must accept them, you must learn to love them and therefore love yourself. Then, we will finally understand that we are not inadequate in any form, in any manner, but we are powerful beyond any measure. The love that is magnificent will never be perfect, but it will know the power you have and it will not be able to escape the love you have given yourself.
